Entellus, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Surveying Technician to join our team in Woods Cross, Utah. Individuals will be responsible for running one and two-person survey crews and assisting with the management of our construction staking. The individual filling this position must have knowledge and understanding of survey operations and the ability to identify potential problems, conduct boundary and topographic surveys, perform construction layout, and all other duties as assigned. The position also has opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals willing to learn and help the department grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload
  • Setup and operation of Total Stations, data collectors, GPS, and other land surveying equipment
  • Conduct field calculations and sketches; download and check data while being held accountable for the accuracy of all survey documents, including field notes, sketches, plans, etc.
  • Estimate fees and budget time and expenses
  • Maintain and take care of all company equipment and vehicles
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulation
  • Maintain and take great care of all survey field equipment and vehicles
  • Any other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Land Surveyor-in-Training certification, preferred
  • Understand the basics of Boundary Survey, Topographic, Construction and Utility Surveys
  • Experience with Trimble GPS and Sokkia total stations, preferred
  • Knowledge of survey calculations and ability to work in AutoCAD and/or Carlson
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
  • Must have a good driving record and valid drivers license
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to work overtime

GIS connects data to a map, finds relationships and helps to understand patterns geographically. At Entellus, we are constantly stepping back and looking at the big picture to see how changes in one location might have impacts somewhere else.

GIS Technicians help us in this goal by inputting, updating, and maintaining GIS databases, coverages, layers, and linkages to various databases. Duties may include: Working with Engineering Staff preparing detailed maps using ESRI technologies (ArcGIS desktop) and/or AutoCAD software; inputting and reviewing GIS data for completeness, accuracy, and neatness; creating map layouts, presentation graphics, 3D renderings; conducting geoprocessing operations and database queries; performing digitization; conducting mapping research in the field and in the office to resolve conflicting information; and interpreting plans, plats, and legal descriptions.

The majority of our GIS work at Entellus occurs within our Water Resources group and includes floodplain delineation, region-wide stormwater master planning, asset management, and drainage support for other in-house disciplines. Projects and work assignments are varied and unique and require the ability to apply past experience to a new situation. There are opportunities for remote or hybrid work.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent coursework at a technical or vocational school in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Civil Engineering, or Land Surveying and Mapping.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience using ESRI ArcGIS desktop (ArcMap 10.8- ArcEditor, and ArcView) ArcGIS extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst) ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map3D, Microsoft Excel & Word, Adobe Photoshop, & Illustrator. Drone FAA Part 107 sUAS Certification a plus.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Perform research on public records, reading and interpreting documents such as maps, aerial photographs, legal descriptions, and construction as-builts.
  • Conduct field verification, identification, and documentation of spatial data with GPS equipment.
  • Assist in routine maintenance of GIS and GPS hardware and software.
  • Ability to perform general math calculations and understand the theory and function of coordinate systems and geodetic projections.
  • Ability to prepare and write reports, memos, and official correspondence using proper spelling, sentence structure and grammar.
  • Utilize computer programs to input and manipulate various types of GIS related data.
  • Experience in cartography, with knowledge of best practices in map design and layout.
  • Have a general understanding of surveying and civil engineering concepts.

We currently have a number of exciting projects underway and are looking for individuals with strong technical ability, good communication skills and enthusiasm to join our successful and growing team. This position will require you to create and conceptualize drawings for a wide variety of public and private sector projects.

Entellus, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Land Survey Party Chief to join our team in Woods Cross, Utah.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled, and highly motivated individual to work in a collaborative work environment. The Survey Party Chief will plan, evaluate, and conduct field survey activities, manage and mentor the field survey teams, coordinate field survey work and maintain daily survey logs as part of public and private commercial, residential and industrial development projects. The team member filling this position must have knowledge and understanding of survey operations and related technical tasks, the ability to identify potential problems, and assist in and perform different types of field surveys including: construction staking, ALTA title surveys, boundary retracement surveys, monument / benchmark Surveys, UAS drone flights, and general topographic surveys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather field survey data through use of conventional and GPS methods
  • Set up, adjust and operate surveying equipment including robotic total station, data collectors and GPS equipment
  • Mentor, train and supervise field staff
  • Positively represent the firm while communicating professionally and regularly with clients on-site
  • Rely on your sound judgement to think on your feet and make decisions on the fly

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with other Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other staff to perform the following duties:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including 2-D modeling.
  • Perform floodplain mapping and delineations.
  • Evaluate drainage issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Help develop drainage master plans.
  • Design drainage facilities including culverts, storm drains, and more.
  • Perform research, synthesize data, and write reports.

Skills/Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience with stormwater projects.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and strong math and science skills.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software.
  • Familiarity with ESRI ArcMap.
  • Experience using HEC-RAS, FLO-2D.
  • Experience with other hydrology & hydraulics programs.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D is also desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Entellus currently has a number of exciting projects underway and we are looking for a full-time Civil Engineer with strong technical ability, good communication skills and enthusiasm to join our growing team. This position will require you to work with other engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the production of plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects such as design of roadways, drainage facilities, site grading, water and sanitary sewer utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design roadway, pedestrian, water/wastewater infrastructure, civil site and related projects.
  • Update designs based on manager and client feedback.
  • Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, estimates and reports.
  • May assist in stormwater planning and management, modeling and design.
  • Coordinate with utility companies during the design process.
  • Conduct site/field inspections of project locations.
  • Perform technical research and investigation.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with 3-7 years of experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona, or ability to become registered within one year.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D design package, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with Entellus staff and external clients.
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc.
