Entellus is currently seeking both full-time and part-time/on-call, experienced Civil Plan Reviewers to support multiple current and upcoming On-Call Civil Plan Review contracts within metropolitan Phoenix. Plan reviews will be completed at our client’s location, at Entellus’ office, or remotely depending on each contract and customer’s requirements and plan review volume 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate superior customer service and maintain productive working relationships with clients 
  • Review a variety of civil engineering related plans, such as water, sewer, concrete, paving, landscape, street light, grading and drainage, storm drain, erosion control, commercial or residential site plans, preliminary plats and final plats, as well as water, sewer, drainage and transportation reports, to ensure compliance with requirements, governing uniform guidelines, and industry standard practice. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Skills/Qualifications

  • Previous Civil engineering development plan review experience for local government, including knowledge of current engineering design and construction standards, as well as engineering plan review procedures. 
  • Able to manage multiple project reviews of varying complexity in a timely manner to meet project timelines established by client. 
  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and local requirements associated with civil engineering requirements.  
  • Extensive background and use of MAG standards. 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, etc. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Present ideas concisely and effectively, orally and in writing. 
  • Maintain organized records and files of all assigned project reviews and record and document plan review comments using electronic plan review and automated tracking systems (as client requires). 

Entellus has a new opportunity for a Land Development Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of project types including residential subdivisions, multi-family, commercial, and industrial sites. The successful candidate is accountable for project performance, ensuring quality control on deliverables, and maintaining strong client relationships through quality deliverables and professional service. This role also provides direction and guidance to junior engineers and technicians assigned to the project manager’s team. This individual will report to the Land Development Discipline Leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare and manage monthly client invoicing.
  • Manage and mentor project team.
  • Manage a variety of land development projects through the entire lifecycle of the project.
  • Participate in firm’s seller-doer culture by developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Maintain quality control on all project deliverables.
  • Provide and teach engineering best practices to project team.
  • Participate in networking events to represent the firm and assist in developing new business.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience on land development projects, including project management responsibilities.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office 365, including familiarity with Teams.
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with team and clients.
  • Strong land development grading and drainage technical skills and understanding.
  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings and on-site inspections.

Entellus has immediate openings for full-time Civil CAD Technicians / Designers / Drafters in our Utah office. We currently have a number of exciting projects underway and are looking for individuals with strong technical ability, good communication skills and enthusiasm to join our successful and growing team. This position will require you to create and conceptualize drawings for a wide variety of public and private sector projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other staff to produce base drawings, plan and profile drawings, perspective drawings, overlays, profiles, and related maps and illustrations primarily for civil site layout and residential communities, utility, grading, stormwater, water/wastewater, and municipal roadway projects.
  • Maintain project files and ensure CADD standards.
  • Assist project managers with preparation of quantities, cost estimates, and project submittals.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Applicants should have training in CAD, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 – 10 years of experience in a civil-related engineering field, preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience in AutoCAD and Civil3D.

This position will require you to work with other engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the production of plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates for land development projects such as design of roadways, drainage facilities, site grading, water and sanitary sewer utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design roadway, pedestrian, water/wastewater infrastructure, civil site and related projects.
  • Update designs based on manager and client feedback.
  • Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, estimates and reports.
  • May assist in stormwater planning and management, modeling and design.
  • Coordinate with utility companies during the design process.
  • Conduct site/field inspections of project locations.
  • Perform technical research and investigation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of completed tasks through the use of established Entellus QA/QC processes.

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with 5-15 years of experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Utah, or ability to become registered within one year.

Entellus is seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 3 to 7 years’ experience to assist our clients and staff on drainage and water resource projects. In this role, you will perform complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and you will be given the opportunity to lead major project tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate complex hydrologic and hydraulic models using both 1D and 2D methods.
  • Perform sediment yield and transport analyses and scour analyses.
  • Document results in and prepare Technical Support Data Notebooks for hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Develop concepts and solutions to mitigate flooding and drainage issues.
  • Size, analyze, and design drainage infrastructure including storm drains, channels, culverts, weirs and other hydraulic structures.
  • Perform reviews and QA/QC on drainage design plans and H&H models.
  • Utilize GIS for modeling and documentation, and to perform analyses as needed.
  • Assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, construction documents, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design a project.
  • Perform research and write reports/opinions.
  • May be expected to perform fieldwork.

Skills/Qualifications

  • At least 3-7 years of experience in stormwater and drainage is ideal, with an Engineer-In-Training certification and the ability to receive Professional Engineers license within 1 year, or a Professional Engineers license.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At a minimum, hydrologic modeling using HEC-1, HEC-HMS, and DDMSW.
  • At a minimum hydraulic modeling using StormCAD, HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, FLO-2D.
  • At a minimum GIS experience using ArcMap.
  • Programming proficiency is desirable, but not required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D is highly desirable.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office), and excellent Excel capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other staff to perform the following duties:

  • Perform engineering calculations for civil engineering design projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of plans, details, specifications, and bidding documents.
  • Perform occasionally drafting in support of design projects.
  • Coordinate with agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals.
  • Prepare and route project-related correspondence and record keeping.
  • Using advanced knowledge, write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports.
  • Assist with tabulating bid items and calculating construction bid quantities from plans and specifications.
  • Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks.

Skills/Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • Previous engineering internship or co-op experience desired.
  • An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and strong math and science skills.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Project software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D is highly desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
