Primary responsibility of the daily inspection of engineering projects, including Preconstruction, Construction and Project Closeout.  May require office work in support of design such as cost estimating, specification preparation, quantity take-offs, surveying or field check assistance.  Experience with inspecting municipal roadway, water, and wastewater projects.  Must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.  Preferred certifications for this position are NICET Level II - Highway Transportation and/or ACI - Concrete Construction Special inspector.

Construction inspector - Arizona Office

Preconstruction Phase:

  • Attend pre and post bid and preconstruction conferences
  • Review construction drawings and other maps to become familiar with project
  • Assist in shop drawing review

Construction Phase:

  • Review and monitor the contractor's schedule and make recommendations for progress payments
  • Keep informed of the status of the project to include schedule and potential variances and issues raised
  • Recommend acceptance of work at the time of completion
  • Monitor and document daily construction activities on a regular basis
  • Participate in periodic progress and coordination meetings
  • Assist in drafting correspondence to respond to contractor's concerns
  • Review the contractor's proposals for changes and recommend resolution
  • Draft and, on approval, issue written field orders
  • Assist with as-built information, incorporating contractor information Monitor contractor regulatory agency compliance guidelines
  • Review payment requests and assist resident inspector with contractor partial payment request
  • Inspect contractor's work for adherence to approved plans and applicable details

Closeout:

  • ​Assist in the review of final certificate for payment
  • Review and process final as-builts
  • Conduct final/close-out punch list inspections and back-check corrected items
  • Conduct and follow-up on final punchlist
  • Measure final quantities for project closeout

Entellus is seeking a senior project engineer to support our public works and development services project teams in water/wastewater infrastructure. Services may include planning, hydraulic evaluation, design, contract documents, and construction phase support for pipelines and remote facilities. The position may be located in either our Phoenix or Salt Lake City office.


Responsibilities:

  • QA/QC completed work including: plans, models, reports, cost estimates, specifications and constructability
  • Provide technical support and innovative design alternatives 
  • Advise project management staff in preparation of scope and fees
  • Provide leadership during project development  
  • Assist in development and review of technical proposals
  • Ability to play an effective role in sales and marketing a plus
  • Water and wastewater treatment process knowledge a plus.
  • Professional Registration
  • 15 or more years experience in water/wastewater design
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt
  • Available in office during core working hours

senior Party chief - Arizona Office

Entellus is seeking a highly-motivated individual to perform calculations and work with one and two-person survey crews.  This individual will also assist with the operation of our construction staking task force based at Sun City Festival in Buckeye Arizona.  The qualified candidate will have at least four years’ experience running a construction staking crew and the ability to interface daily with clients and sub-contractors.  Knowledge of survey calculations and ability to work in AutoCAD and/or Carlson required.  LSIT or RLS preferred but not required, however obtaining this certification while employed is encouraged.  Ability to estimate fees and budget time and expenses a plus.  Work truck included with assignment and requires a clean driving record.
